    Picture Hanging Systems

Picture Hanging Systems are Australia's leading manufacturer and supplier of art hanging systems. From Melbourne to Muchea (as in ‘there’s nothing Muchea’) their wide range of rails, hangers and hooks are used in art galleries, modern and period homes, new build architectural developments, exhibitions and so on.

Our relationship with them has blossomed on the simple premise that we enable to them to see things from their customer’s perspective.

Whether we’re producing an e-commerce website (we’ve completed three to date), advertisements, product packaging or instruction

manuals, our design input and creative solutions to interpret their marketing needs are effective because we understand what the customers expect and what makes them tick.

Our most recent project was the conversion of an old ‘brochure’ website into a shiny new ecommerce website, complete with an updated corporate style, customer focussed user interface and CMS. Our integration of the new Magento-based site to a cloud-based online inventory software program is also proving its worth. As the orders being to increasingly flood in, less and less time is being spent manually processing the order details and productivity has jumped.

    Mediquip

Mediquip are a perfect example of someone who initially approached us for a quick fix, then began to explore our wider range of design services, and subsequently developed into a long standing client.

Our original brief was to create a professional corporate profile to promote theselves, their extensive distribution services to the healthcare and veterinarian sectors, and their key service differentiators. The resulting design was a bold and iconic document which they were so proud of that they still use to this day.

Clearly proud of their refined corporate messaging, our remit has since grown to include advertising, exhibition materials, corporate stationery, product catalogues and print management.

As a mid-sized enterprise without a dedicated marketing team, their reliance on our services has helped them to build a distinctive and consistently professional representation of themselves in the industry, and to communicate clearly and effectively. With both new premises and impressive sales team growth during the past five years, Mediquip are definitely doing the right things.

    GE Capital

From jet engines to power generation, financial services to water processing and medical imaging to media content, GE is one of the world’s largest and most diverse global corporations.

Absolute were recently approached to produce numerous components for a campaign on behalf of GE Capital, to help publicise the key findings of a newly commissioned research report.

Seeking to communicate its in-depth knowledge and expertise in the overlooked Mid-Market sector of Australian business, GE required the design of a 60 page financial report plus numerous other materials and devices to target both the initial announcement of the findings to the press, and to develop awareness in the business and finance sectors. Their goal was to channel interest and commentary to a new mini-site, to further stimulate the debate.

    Merthyr Law

Absolute recently won the pitch to develop and create a new Content Management System based website for Merthyr Law of Brisbane.

Merthyr Law provide innovative legal solutions for clients with complex estate, business and investment needs. In offering specialised legal services, their wanted the website to clearly communicate their specialisms, and provide a self-managed ‘Latest News’ feature allowing regular stories and press releases to be added, so helping to publicise their high-level of seminar and conference activity.

The design initially required the translation of Merthyr Law’s existing print branding into a digital environment. As the solution to their CMS requirements we based the site build on the popular, versatile and cost-effective WordPress open source system.

Of paramount importance throughout the build was the process of ‘humanising’ both the site layout and content. This we achieved by creating a more approachable and welcoming face to the business by including photos and brief biographies about key members of the team. We also categorised their Merthyr’s services into meaningful groupings and clearly presented them throughout the site, and simplified much of the written content by de-jargonising the heavy legal language and transforming the copy into a lighter, easier read.

Testimony to WordPress’ easy-to-use interface, the team at Merthyr Law has taken to the CMS like a duck to water and now proudly manage their own ‘live’ website.

    University of Queensland

Absolute have been the University of Queensland Business School’s creative partner of choice for yonks, designing and creating distinct advertising, print and digital campaign work which has contributed steadily increasing degrees of success.

As with many of our clients, some particularly impressive results for a one-off project lead to another job, and then to another, and so on ... to the point at which we were rebranding key areas of their

corporate identity and helping them to better target potential clients, with demonstrable success.

Educational establishments have to maintain their well-earned reputations and behave in a manner that is expected of them. Trust in our capabilities has grown to the extent that we can explore this to the max, often applying smart creativity with serious messages to deliver notable, response generating communications using creative concepts and eye-catching artwork.

    Nokia

Absolute regularly support Nokia’s major product launches in the Asia-Pac region. Most recently this has included some exciting design briefs for the new generation of N8, N9 and Lumia 800 Windows based smartphones.

From the creation of artwork and materials for competitions promoting the awareness of new product features and functionality,

to the design of materials for press and staff product launches, and retailer awareness, our involvement is wide and varied.

Be it the chance to drive a supercar for a day through a Facebook competition, or the opportunity to meet top celebrity photographer David LaChappelle, Nokia always put serious pizzazz behind their product launches, and it’s a pleasure to play a small part in their high-profile campaign efforts.

    Delium

Absolute were originally approached by Delium to help structure a launch campaign for the introduction of their new product offering, with the messaging emphasizing the approval of two key new patents giving them significant competitive advantage in the international marketplace.

On first meeting the team at Delium, we noticed that they were clearly wary of ‘agencies’ and appeared to have had a bad experience somewhere along the line. It was also evident that they had become too close to their own products and terminology.

Our initial proposition was therefore that we work with them to prioritise their unique selling points, and in doing so de-jargonised their key messages.

In turning our attentions to the campaign, we deliberately sought to gain awareness by differentiating their key statements from the countless other bland examples in their industry. As a proud Australian business, our proposal was to combine the campaign line ‘unfair dinkum’ with images of defeated legal personnel, in stark contrast to the usual smiling person imagery.

Above the line print advertising complimented by online initiatives and a direct mail and emailer campaign helped channel interest into the newly re-developed website, where ‘free trial’ offer sought to convert interest into action. Our remit has clearly blossomed and since the initial project we have also been commissioned to rework their website design and product interface, to again introduce a cleaner, more intuitive experience.

    Digital Switchover Taskforce

The Australian Government is currently in the process of switching the transmission of the nation’s broadcast TV signals from analogue to digital, which requires all households need to be prepared.

In the early stages of the program, the Digital Switchover Taskforce required a specialist publication to help communicate important information to people who find it hard to read or understand written information. They approached Absolute to help produce an innovative ‘Easy English’ publication.

Easy English constitutes a set of style guidelines and a library of familiar images which are specified to help communicate with perfect clarity. The project became a fascinating exercise in the removal of the unnecessary components that graphic designers often use to embellish a document.

As with many of our mid-sized clients, the Digital Switchover Taskforce were clearly pleased with the result and continue to approach us for other specialist or one-off projects.

    Room with Roses

Having successfully undertaken the transformation of one of Brisbane’s most individual dining experiences, the new owner of Room with Roses in the Brisbane Arcade approached Absolute to create a suitably fitting new website.

Such is the individuality of the heritage listed Brisbane Arcade location that the venue has become increasingly popular as a place to indulge and to celebrate in style. Weddings and a variety of other events are now regularly held there and high-tea is clearly recognised as one of their specialities.

The site design was therefore begging to reflect the true feel of the dining experience and, with the host of period fittings, interior design stylings and fabrics on location, we weren’t spoilt for choice.

With planned regular updates to their menus, the owner stipulated the need for Content Management System (CMS) capabilities for which we used the popular WordPress open source framework.
